Ooooooooh......bungy "fun"......

After waiting at my hotel an extra 15 min., the guy who was supposed to come and get me finally showed up. With hardly a hello, he started speed walking ahead of me as if I weren't even worth a hello. We got to the place and I felt a little better when some of the other folks around were a little friendlier. I was still nervous, but soon it was my turn. After a "lovely" weigh in, I was soon seated and had one foot up on another employee's leg. Soon, up came the other one and they were both outfitted together. Yes...my nerves were definitely getting more than a little jumpy, but I was trying not to show it too much. I hopped over to the lift and I was soon on my way up. Upon reaching the top, I thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest. I listened rather shakily as the Thai guy who was there with me just said to step up to the edge, put my hands up and not delay things. God....my stomach feels queasy now just thinking about things. I thought, well...I'm here. I'm certainly not going back down. I barely peeked down and realized I could hardly see the pool beneath me before deciding to just take the Thais advice and not look down. I let go of the railing, put my hands up and he started counting and then pushed. All I really remember is the spinning and bouncing and nearly instant nausia. For a girl that doesn't particularly like heights and gets motion sick easily, hanging myself and bouncing on a big string of rubber may not have been the best idea. I spun and spun and remember attempting to focus on one thing. All I wanted was down. The other men helped me down and all I managed to get out while stumbling was that I was nausious, and manuevered my way to the bathroom. My lunch partly came up and I thought I was ok. I ordered a water from the bar and tried to keep my composure. After a quick probably 20 min. or so, I was back at the bathroom and everything else came up. I went to a lounge chair and layed there for at least 30 min. wishing I didn't feel like I had a hangover. What had prompted me to hurl myself into thin air with a meager cord to catch myself? I now know what I won't have the urge to try on my next vacation.
